I like to eat, and I like to taste every kind of delicacies. So I’m here writing about a western restaurant,that is named “ La Villa Rauge” on Hengshan road and near Yuqing road.

This is a famous villa in shanghai, It’s located in Xujiahui park. I’ve heard so much about it. One day I was going the park with my family. So we decided to have a lunch at this restaurant.

 

 

I was a little disappointment when we got into the building. It isn’t so spacious and luxurious as I imagined. But the old wood floor,doors and windows remind me of my childhood. Let me  feel very warm.. The furniture is a successful combination of Chinese style and western style. And the background music was jazz. It gave customers sense of vogue here. Especially the gramophone and the small bar.
Many people go there at night or in the afternoon. So it wasn’t noisy at noon. However, the waiters were very busy for a party that night while we were eating. But it didn’t affect the good quality of the service.

There is French food here. You can order some dishes and you can have a meal according to your requirement. And it has also special banquet and function menu available for party of 10 to 50 guests.

 

 

We paid about 150RMB per person. I think it is extremely expensive. The food wasn’t too delicious, besides beef steak and goose liver. Perhaps I don’t know all of food there. But I still don’t want to recommend others to go there for dinner. I think it has good envieoment for drinking or taking an appointment or afternoon tea.

This restaurant is so famous, not for the food,  just for the history of this villa that was buit in 1921. It was once EMI music china. Chinese national anthem recorded there for the first time at an old movie that was named 《风云儿女》.
